Planning a wedding, graduation celebration, barmitzva, lavish anniversary party or other private event?  These special times in your life can be a major financial investment, equivalent to the cost of a new car or the down payment on a home. Michigan Specialty Insurance Agency, Inc. is pleased to announce that we now offer coverage through a number of major carriers that will protect your investment. A variety of plans are available, and include policies that have a one-time premium starting at $195 and take effect up to two years prior to your event date. Coverage options include cancellation or postponement, additional expense, photographs and video, gifts, rented property, special attire, jewelry, personal liability, and medical payments.

Cancellation or Postponement
Cancellation or Postponement coverage will pay, up to the coverage limit and subject to a $250 deductible, the nonrefundable expenses incurred when the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, wedding or private event, reception or honeymoon must be cancelled or postponed (to some future date) for certain reasons beyond your control (Change of Heart is not covered).

Personal Liability
Personal Liability coverage will pay up to the coverage limit that you select, towards the sums for which you become legally responsible, as the result of bodily injury, personal injury or property damage caused by a covered accident which occurs during the course of a covered event such as the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, ceremony or reception.

Gifts
Gifts coverage will pay, up to the coverage limit that you select and subject to a $250, to repair or replace non-monetary gifts which are lost, stolen or damaged. (A police report is required for stolen gifts.)

Medical Payments
Medical Payments coverage will pay up to $1,000 of reasonable medical expenses for each person who is injured during the covered events from a cause of loss that would be covered by the Personal Liability..

Photographs and Video
For photographs, the policy will pay, up to the coverage limit that you select and subject to a $250 deductible, to retake photographs if the photographer fails to appear for any reason or, the original negatives are lost, damaged stolen or not properly developed. This coverage will pay the round trip air or auto travel expenses incurred by the bride, the groom, or for other private events types to reassemble for the ceremony pictures to be retaken.

Special Attire
Special Attire coverage will pay, up to the coverage limit that you select and subject to a $250 deductible to repair or replace the bridal gown and other special attire, when it is lost or stolen or damaged (including financial failure of the bridal store). Special attire includes the clothing and accessories bought or rented and to be worn by the bride, the groom, or for other private event types. It does not include watches, jewelry or precious or semi-precious gemstones or pearls (even if attached to clothing).

Rented Property
Rented Property coverage will pay, up to the coverage limit that you  select and subject to a $500 deductible, to repair or replace rented property for which you are responsible (including tents), used to facilitate the production of the wedding or private event, which is lost, stolen or damaged. (A police report is required for stolen rented property.)

Additional Expenses
Additional Expenses coverage will pay up to 25% of the limit that you select for Cancellation or Postponement for any additional expenses necessary to arrange alternative services to avoid a covered cancellation or postponement.
